Jane West is a versatile musician who effortlessly blends Americana influences from artists like Emmylou Harris and Bobbi Gentry with contemporary sounds reminiscent of Lake Street Dive and Margo Price. She can be found captivating audiences at various venues including clubs, hotels, corporate events, museums, weddings, children's parties, memorial services, store openings, surprise engagements, and even singing telegrams. While Jane has adapted by incorporating more online performances upon request, additionally, she is actively collaborating and arranging upcoming vocal projects, with plans to record once the gig season slows down.
Having been immersed in music ever since she started taping herself singing into her Fischer-Price tape recorder, Jane's passion for music has been nurtured through her extensive musical studies both nationally and internationally. While she initially began her musical journey on the violin at the age of nine, she has since focused primarily on developing her voice, particularly in the areas of vocal harmony and arranging. This has earned her a well-deserved reputation as an exceptional backup singer. Presently, Jane's focus lies in accompanying herself on the guitar.
Although Jane tends to shy away from competitions, it is worth noting that she was recognized as one of the top ten unsigned music artists by The Pittsburgh City Paper in 2021. Additionally, she achieved first place alongside Meredith Holliday in Greensburg's "Rock The Palace Battle of The Bands" in 2016.
Jane thoroughly enjoys performing at private parties and offers a diverse range of musical options, including a cappella, acoustic, and electric performances as a solo artist, duo, full band, or vocal group.
This songbird's musical journey has been characterized by a refusal to be confined to a single genre. Having studied classical music extensively, she has seamlessly transitioned into singing rock, pop, jazz, bluegrass, and country. Furthermore, Jane has experience performing choral, Celtic, blues, musical theater, and barber shop tunes. As time progresses, she continues to explore and learn more about different genres, further expanding her musical repertoire.
When she's not soloing, Jane focuses on performing all things Americana with her former guitar teacher and luthier, Joe Golden. She's recently finished her third performance as a featured vocalist with the Classic Vinyl Concert Series, a group focusing on full album tributes.
